A Gift to Morgans?
Oh, the joys of living in Ohio. Okay, I guess you could get one of these God-awful sinus infections in other parts of the world, but at least if you were in Florida or somewhere warm you could recuperate where it was *pretty* in the wintertime!
The last two days have been awful...my head feels like it's being split with a chisel and almost nothing has helped. Doug bought me Mucinex D which has helped the most. I can at least sit up and function somewhat...
Okay, enough whining, but, man, I can't help it..... :(
Anyway, the Morgan world had a first born today--a buckskin splash white colt. He looks to be a nicely conformed horse as best you can tell when they're only a few hours old. He has a pretty Morgan head, and he will certainly be noticed.
Congratulations to his owner/breeder!
But what about all that white? On his belly--not spots but covering his *whole* belly and high whites and a bald face. Wow. Certain colorful people in the breed are excited about him and the possibilities, but I must admit that I'm hesitant. I'm not *against* the white, but I must admit that I don't like it.
It's not that I think that high whites and splash and maximum sabinos shouldn't be allowed in the breed. That's silly and high-handed. But, I, myself, don't like it. Morgans, to me, should be solid-colored. I'm also not fond of pintos or Paints or anything with more than a sock or two and a star.
Doug, on the other hand, will LOVE this new colt. He will want one <G>, and that is where we differ.
The Morgans received a gift today. And I wonder how or if it's going to change the way Morgans are seen in the whole of the horse world... .
Opinions?
