Difficult Decisions

It's a fact of life that sometimes we are thrown for a loop, and in order to get straight again, we must make changes.

After Christmas 2006, my grandmother was hospitalized for 10 days. because of my grandfather's health (nearly blind and with Parkinson's Disease), Doug and I spent almost all of our time taking care of them and our children, all the while taking care of the chores around the house and barn.

Thanks to wonderful doctors and the thoughts and prayers of our friends, Gram is back home and getting her strength back. However, the time irrevocably changed our lives--at least for the foreseeable future. Even though my grandparents at this point don't need full-time care, Doug and I need to be there for doctor's and physical therapy visits.

These things are no problem. Doug and I adore my grandparents. Yet, in order to take care of them, we realize we must downsize our herd.

In the months ahead, we know that the horses will be good for us, a get-away, patient friends who will revive us and be there when we need them. Plus, my grandparents co-own PL Touched by an Angel, and they love to come visit her. Having Cookie here will be good for them as well.

The logistics are that we will NOT be selling or leasing our Morgan or Dales Stallions. We will continue to offer limited breedings to Hearth's Mercury Rising as we'd planned. With Doug and I both here and our excellent vets, breeding continue as intended.

Draconia Keep will continue to breed our own mares but with only one or two a year.

Our Dales filly is *not* for sale or for lease.

However, we have several mares for sale or for lease.

They include

Draconia Masterharper, a stallion quality palomino yearling colt

Morgandales Fiery Diamond, a once-in-a-lifetime 6 year old bay mare

Harmons Lick Winingticket, A 5 year old exquisite solid black mare

Sweet Revenge, a POA mare ready to be your or your child's next best friend

If another of our horses strike your fancy, contact us. We are open to leasing options on some of the other mares.

Letting go of any of our horses will be difficult, but our loss is your gain!
