Nationals and Anniversaries: Catching up

What a summer and early fall it's been! Doug and the kids and I went to Disney in early September, and we had a blast. We were able to stop and visit Karen and Mike Burridge which is always a pleasure. They are fantastic people with beautiful Morgans.

Earlier this month, I went to Miniature Horse Nationals in Fort Worth, Texas and then up to Oklahoma City for Morgan Nationals. We had a blast, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing many of my friends again. It always overwhelms me to see so many Morgans in one place.

On September 19th, Doug and I celebrated 15 years of marriage, and speaking of that, my grandfather is currently in a V.A. rehabilitation center, but he is expected to be getting out very soon. He and my grandmother celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on the 12th of October. This is the announcement we sent out:

A short 60 years ago,

Burtle Jernigan

and

Elizabeth Burke

were married in a small church in Nashville, Tennessee

shortly after the Sunday night service

on October 12, 1947.

Since then, they’ve shared the lows and highs

of six decades of love and turmoil.

During those years, some of their greatest joys were traveling

together all over the U.S., seeing countless

of God’s most beautiful treasures.

Today, Burt and Liz still are inseparable,

loving and caring for one another

as they always have. They stay home now,

but the memories and the love will last forever.

To celebrate their Diamond Anniversary, Burt and Liz,

in lieu of a reception,

would enjoy phone calls, cards and visits.
